The French Cultural Centre in Bamako organises meetings between foreign designers and Malian craftsmen. These encounters force each of them to leave their working habits behind and imagine new ways to create something together.
This is how a series of objects made of woven palm leaves was created in collaboration with a basket maker.
The context calls for simple, elementary objects.
Baskets or lights, all of them, physically, can be flipped over, which modifies their capacity or the quality of light they let through.

A family of objects woven in palm-tree leave made in collaboration with an artisan weaver. Baskets, bowls or lights, had to remain basic, elementary.
Yet all have a double use: flipping them over, modifies their capacity or the quality of the light they let through.
